During a recent aluminum wiring inspection, a homeowner who relies on oxygen equipment 24/7 reported intermittent power loss and a refrigerator circuit that had stopped working. As part of our troubleshooting process, we systematically inspected each device and connection on the affected circuit.
What we discovered was alarming: a severely overheated and burned aluminum wiring connection located directly beside the homeowner’s continuously used oxygen tank and seating area. Further investigation also revealed that a previous DIY modification had tied the dishwasher into the same circuit using improper splicing methods. That connection was also heavily overheated and damaged.

Situations like this highlight why aluminum wiring systems should be professionally evaluated and repaired by qualified specialists familiar with permanent mitigation methods such as the COPALUM crimp process. Many hazardous connections show little or no outward warning signs before failure occurs.
Fortunately, these hazardous connections were identified and permanently repaired before a much more serious electrical fire event could occur.
If your home has aluminum branch wiring and you are experiencing flickering lights, warm outlets, burning smells, intermittent power loss, or unexplained electrical issues, we encourage you to schedule a professional inspection.
